The third person pronouns are the broadest classifications of personal pronouns in the English language and they are known to reflect even gender. A quick recap on pronouns: pronouns are words that are used in place of nouns in expressions to prevent redundancy and aid smooth flow of ideas.


Third person pronouns refer to pronouns that indicate the third person point of view in an expression. They are the pronouns used when talking about a person as opposed to talking to them. Third person pronouns can be classified into three categories based on inflection, namely; Number, Case, and Gender.

Number

Number, here, refers to the singularity or plurality of the third person pronouns. For example;

Case

Case, here, refers to the classification of the third person pronouns based on their functions in expressions such as: subjective, objective or possessive.
